Overview
On a day-to-day basis, the firm really blended a strong culture of mixing workshops including technical skills, as well as informal events to understand one another better. A lot of autonomy was provided in terms of carrying out group projects, training sessions and a lot of support was provided through the real-expertise of bankers.
Skills
Without doubt there was a great learning curve, and early exposure to a variety of knowledge courses in M&A/RX etc. More unique to Lazard, the boardroom pitch was a particularly fun and the willingness to give such responsibility to candidates were truly phenomenal.
Business Insight
Lazard truly emphasises their culture in excellence, with thoroughly detailed overview of the importance of each division. Finding out unique pockets of deal-trouble as well as wins was always interesting, as well as understanding the broader NY-office roles.
Culture
Having heard from a huge plethora of reps, Lazard was a truly comfortable, relaxed, prestigious and interesting place to have an insight programme at. The buddy scheme - including nice lunches, breakfast and all-day snacks, made the experience feel more special than other insight programmes. To top it all off, the UK CEO's frank talk with us proved Lazard's commitment to an all-inclusive culture.
Your Impressions
The working environment, M&A pitch competition, social events and networking opportunities, alongside the Analyst Buddy & Senior Mentor - really made a Lazard an enjoyable place to attend the insight programme at. To add, HR as well as the members of the firm - from lifts to lunches - were especially kind. A thoroughly enjoyable 3-days.
