Overview
The programme was for 3 days and involved attending talks about different sectors within the firm and working on a group project detailing a past transaction Lazard had worked on.
Skills
I learnt the principles of evaluating the fundamental value of a company through formal training sessions on the job. Additionally, I also enhanced my soft skills such as collaboration and working in a team through the group project we were set during the programme.
Business Insight
It was very useful. The insight programme gave me a firm grasp of the different divisions at Lazard and helped me make a more informed choice about what future career path I want to pursue. I will be returning to Lazard as the experience was extremely good.
Culture
The culture was very professional but not to the point of being aggressive or intimidating. The people seemed friendly and were willing to interact with the interns.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the insight primarily due to the knowledge I gained during the programme. The other interns I met on the programme I am still friends with today, so I think that speaks to the quality of connection you can build in just 3 days.
Yes
Apply early and make sure you know why you want to join financial services and Lazard in particular. When interviewing relax and take it as a conversation. Lazard seem to like personable and friendly people, so don't try and put on a persona you think will impress the company.
