The Role
Working for Microsoft has been an incredible year both in work responsibility and socially. My team were great with me and gave me a vast amount of experience, workload and understanding of the business as well expensed nights out and events! A work hard and play hard environment working with great knowledgeable employees enabling you to fit in to the company with ease.
My team gave me a great deal of responsibility and showed appreciation to the work that I did. Those working closely with our team would also ask me directly for help - which is something you really do value. I gave it 8 out of 10 and not higher as when you work for Microsoft for longer you wish to taken on bigger projects (reflecting on the ambitious/hard working nature of the company) but you also have to remember the your role is being an intern and your team will give you the work load you can be comfortable with. However as an internship you get a vast amount of responsibilities/training and workload and your input is always valued.
It will always depend on how you deal with your relationship between your manager, but I had weekly 1:1s with my manager covering all my objectives during the year. I was always given advice to how to make the most of the year and how to benefit yourself from the internship.
Never a boring day; there is always things to do.
The Company
The work environment had an American relaxed environment with a work style of smart casual. You get to work with enthusiastic, determined and hard working colleagues. They are always open to new ideas and employees are always willing to meet up and have a coffee.
Very well organised, I had dedicated job tasks, a great manager and the opportunities to venture in new projects and work areas.
Required online training and the ability to take Microsoft Office exams. The role was more learn on the job, but the company high encouraged mentoring support and strong relationships with your manager.

Hopefully looking to contact my team and other employees once I graduate.
The Culture
Strong intern community and very good team relationships. Generally Microsoft nights out have always been great fun and full of banter.
Living in London was expensive, but the company provided many free social events. If I was in the TVP campus it would've been a very good deal.
