Overview
I was given the general job title of an aerospace engineer however my role was not what I would class as engineering and was not scientific at all. It was more of a people type role and I spent most of my time in meetings where I wasn't sure what was going on. However most of the time i wasn't doing anything at all as i was given very little work.
Skills
Not particularly. I did a small zoom presentation but apart from that I wasn't given anything challenging to do.
Responsibilities
No. I was only given one main task to complete in 3 months and it felt like a job they gave me just so that i had something to do.
Support & Guidance
My team were supportive and I was given a 'buddy' who was nice.
Culture
From my first day working I had people complaining to me about how they disliked their job. It was always extremely negative, although I think this was just the area that I was based in. I know that some other interns had a better experience than me.
Your Impressions
Unfortunately i really did not enjoy the internship. I was barely given any work and I was extremely bored. I worked from home most days and if i had known this before i wouldn't have moved to Preston. I felt like it was a waste of time and I gained very little from the experience, as I did not get to see what an engineering career would be like.
No
I think that some people did really enjoy their internship, however I did not. I think it's a risk applying here as it completely depends on what department you are put into.
