Overview
Assisting with decision making to deliver overall product strategy for the Pro+ brand. Daily tasks would include competitor tracking, sales figure analysis, cost of goods analysis, product brochure design, preparation for meetings, preparation for presentations. Regular interaction with the product manager and brand manager within the team, as well as interaction with teams across the business. Also regular interaction with the dealer network and marketing agencies. Projects include assisting with new product launches.
Skills
Developed my analytical competencies and broadened my understanding of the volatile commercial vehicle industry. Improved my interpersonal skills thanks to regular team interaction and frequent collaboration with teams across the business. Developed my public speaking ability and presenting skills.
Responsibilities
I was given a large amount of responsibility from day one in the role, which certainly made me feel empowered and motivated to perform to the best of my ability.
Support & Guidance
I received a good amount of support from my manager in the role and also by being part of the Renault mentoring scheme.
Culture
The company culture was very friendly and inclusive at all times. I felt involved in key decision making from my first day and felt I had a key role to play. Everyone made an effort to get to know everyone and the interns were treated like normal members of staff. I particularly enjoyed socialising with my colleagues outside of work hours.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement very much, it was a brilliant experience to learn first hand about marketing in one of the largest and most prestigious automotive manufacturers in the world. The context of the automotive industry at the time made it even more insightful
