Overview
I spent time in Content Finance, across 4 different departments. I basically had to support the teams with day-to-day financial tasks, whilst also working closely with central finance. Alongside this, I was very fortunate to be given lots of free time to speak and network with many people at the BBC, in other areas. We also had lots of training too. It really was the perfect internship.
Skills
I have developed my people skills, as it was my first job in an office. I have also got better at using Excel and other systems. I feel the best part of it was that I got to do real tasks and actually make a meaningful difference.
Responsibilities
Yes. I was given tasks that contributed to different business functions, and really made to feel part of the team.
Support & Guidance
Fantastic. Everyone was so lovely and I had the best time getting to know them all. They were all so willing to give up time and help and we also had dedicated time each week to complete training.
Culture
It was honestly fantastic - the best place I have ever worked. It was a joy to work each day, so much so that I chose not to WFH and instead go into the office each day.
Your Impressions
10/10. I loved it and the 8 weeks absolutely flew by.
Yes
I would say be yourself but also immerse yourself into the BBC and understand what it really stands for, it will really help.
