Overview
After being introduced to the project, performed voltage compliance studies using DIgSILENTPower Factory software, discussed findings with other engineers within the team and and presented them in form of a report. Attended large team meetings and site visits.
Skills
Consolidated general electrical engineering knowledge, and learned about processes and different approaches used by current engineers in the field to solve problems.
Responsibilities
During the placement I was given a lot of responsibility as the results of my studies were used to determine some of the future investments of NG. Although, I had constant support by other engineers in my team when needed.
Support & Guidance
During my placement there was a lot of support available from my team manager as well as all the members of my team, always available to answer any of my questions.
Culture
National Grid is a very inclusive company, with a number of different events being organised. Everyone in the company was keen to help me gain further knowledge about the business

The placement was very enjoyable as it allowed exposure to different sides of the company and personally rewarding given the impact that my work had on the business.
