Overview
As an intern analyst, I will be required to keep up with the market and also understand more about how the markets affect the area which I am analyzing. On top of that, I will also be required to perform research on organizations and companies to understand more about their performance and determine their future prospect before writing an internal note to summarize my findings to my colleagues.
Skills
Further enhancing my analytical skill is one of the many skills I learnt. In addition, networking with sell side and fellow colleagues to understand how the business work helps me with contributing to the goals of the company. Being able to apply what I learnt from university and applying in the workplace is also very useful as I can maximise my strength to add value.
Responsibilities
During the internship, I was given projects that stretches me and push me out of my comfort zone. But this is how I actually improved and learn. Even though the responsibility is a lot, I enjoyed the experience as I think that it gives me experience unique to this industry.
Support & Guidance
During my time here, we were encouraged to ask questions and most of the time, the colleagues will be more than willing to help me out with my questions and assist me in my learning. The nurturing culture was very encouraging, and I believe that it adds to my motivation to do well.
Culture
The company has a nurturing culture, colleagues will help you understand you want to. Furthermore, I think that it is also very inclusive as I get to go to multiple events to meet different people in different parts of the company and industry which I believe helps me develop holistically.
Your Impressions
I believe that I enjoyed going to work, the work that I am working on is interesting and it aligns with what I want to achieve. At the same time, there is a work life balance which ensure that I do not burnout which helps.
Yes
Understand what you want to achieve from the experience, think about what you like and determine if that aligns with abrdn's goals. At the same time, it would be better if one understands more about the industry and keep up with the markets.
