    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As a HR Generalist Intern, everyday was different. My tasks included delivering inductions to new starters, taking responsibilty for the end-to-end recruitment for manufacturing operatives (e.g. advertising roles, reviewing CV’s, arranging interviews, preparing contracts/offer letters, onbaording), managing internal and external HR enquires via emails, phone and walk-ins, note taking in ER cases, various admin tasks and reporting and adhoc projects.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I gained an excellent foundation of HR knowledge throughout my placement. It was great to put theory from my HR degree into practice. My time at C&D helped gain my current role as a HR Administrator which enables me to secure 2 years of HR experience by the time I graduate. This puts me in a great position for grad roles.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Responsibilty is given to you straight away, which I loved. I was responsible for organising and delivering inductions, I had my own area of recruitment (manufacturing, dispensary and the next intake of interns) and adhoc projects. The team are very supportive so you could ask for more/less responsibility when required.
