The Role
I definitely enjoyed my palcement, the people at the company were always helpful and it really helped having other undergraduates around
I feel that they were mostly very friendly and always helpful and that I was given trasks that were proportionate to my skills and experience
I had two managers during my placement and both gave me plenty of help any time I needed it
I could have been busier at times but mostly I had enough work to do
I was given some projects to work at myself which was enjoyable, the more responsibilty the better
I feel that I probably haven't learned very much that will help me pass my exams but I have learned a lot that helped me better understand how to operate in a company and also feel I have greatly improved my communication and presentation skills etc
The Company
I was in an office with just my manger and as he wasn't around quite a lot I would be by myself but I did spend a lot of time not in the office which meant I could talk to people
I feel that there could have been a more structured approach to my placement as in clear tasks and projects layed out for the whole year but the work I did get was managed well and I was never made to feel like I was on my own
I was taken on 2-3 off site trips for training and team building purposes
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
I would consider working here again but as it would mean I would have to permantly relocate it would be a big decision, if not for this I would consider it.
The Culture
There was a really good social scene with the other undergraduates, having other people in the same situation working and living around you was probably the best thing about the placement
I lived in chetser which was pretty expensive compared to what Im used to
The nightlife in Chester was good, plenty of pubs and enough pubs to keep you interested for 12 months at least
Myself and a few other undergraduates got involved in a lot of clubs/teams outside of work
