Overview
Serving retail customers walking in to the branch to receive their hire vehicles and then checking them into it. Crucial step is to offer them additional protections to reduce excess. Processing the vehicles returning after an end of a rental contract by doing a boot to boot check to ensure the vehicle is damage is free. Reaching out to customers in need of a replacement vehicles for reservations that come through as an insurance booking.
Skills
I've developed a range of skills such as: sales, relationship building, communication, punctuality, able to meet deadlines, multi-tasking, marketing, and most importantly customer service.
Responsibilities
Yes everyday a delegation sheet was formed where you would be delegated certain responsibilities throughout the day which had to be completed before a certain time. A few of mine included doing vehicle and van checks to ensure they were meeting the enterprise standards of "Clean, Safe and Fueled", to keep the Successful Failure Log updated at all times as this recorded all feedback received from customers after the end of their rental.
Support & Guidance
Received exactly the right amount of support as my managers and fellow colleagues were always ready to help and teach me the key elements I need to be successful in the company. Also at the same time test me with giving more responsibilities and see if I was able to deliver.
Culture
The company culture and general atmosphere was great as the people I worked with really got along well with each other. There was a strong chemistry between everyone at the workplace and everyone understood each other really well.
Your Impressions
To a strong extent as it was a completely new experience in an industry I wasn't really familiar with it. The various challenges and achievements made it even better as it really showed me what the world of work consists of. Most importantly I met new people through the enterprise network and was able to reach out to them when needed. It taught me the key methods required to run a successful business.
