Overview
A very well organised and engaging event. Provided an overview of EY, including their approach to DE and I, the EY foundation and their sustainability goals. Had the chance to network with other students on the programme and ask questions to the Women's Network panel and Tax panel. After an introduction to tax, we worked with on a case study with a small group, presenting our findings in the form of powerpoint presentation.
Skills
The event has helped me improve my confidence, by developing networking, communication and presentation skills. I now have a better knowledge of tax and the opportunities that can be offered at EY.
Business Insight
It was eye-opening to learn about the potential of working abroad and it was inspiring to hear from current employees who have done this. It was interesting to learn about EYs approach to current issues, such as sustainability and DE and I. Overall, I felt we were given an in-depth insight into the business. It is clearly a supportive place to work.
Culture
The company culture seems to be very supportive. They clearly encourage their employees to take part in volunteering opportunities and other activities outside of work. It feels as if they motivate their employees to progress in their career, with several different paths to take to do this. They all provide their staff with opportunities to meet other like-minded people. The atmosphere was positive and relaxed, with an emphasis on being yourself.
Your Impressions
Thoroughly enjoyed this virtual placement, I would highly recommend it to others!
