lots of networking and conversation starting - a willingness to learn is essential Shadowing people working on desks and asking as many questions as possible to gain a coherent understanding of what they do in their day to day, their product, and how to trade it Working on a project given by my managers to enrich my understanding of how the macroeconomic picture affects my desk
Skills
Better confidence in reaching out and networking overall a more coherent understanding of how markets worked - specifically swaps improved public presentation skills - worked alot on disfluencies a deeper and richer understanding of how IB and GM works

it was made very clear what the oportunities presented to us were, and how we could get them There was a real emphaisis on reaching out and finding the sector that is the right fit. Everyone was incredibly conversational and nice
Culture
incredibly personable and friendly. In my teams there was quite a flat structure and every member of the team really added value nomura has a great culture of honesty and excellence and it is evident in talking to the teams.
Your Impressions
This was such an amazing experience. I honeslty have never seen so many women in a room in finance, it was so motivating. Getting the opportunity to sit on the desk has been invaluable
