Overview
First day: An overview of Nomura, heard from several speakers across several business divisions and a member of echios taught us about financial technicals. Tour of the office was great. Second day: Echios teaching continued, strong insight into Global Markets Third day: Lots of networking (during lunch and drinks in the evening), CORP focused Fourth day: Investment banking focused, lots of networking, M&A case study
Skills
Learnt so much about ALL functions of Nomura - not just Investment Banking. I wasn't too sure about what division within Investment Banking I would like to go into before the program, but now M&A and the RSG Team within CFS really appeal to me. Improved a wide range of technicals and networked with a lot of other interns and people from across Nomura.
Business Insight
All roles and positions were covered, and most importantly people in these roles told us how they got their roles and what they do in great detail - but not overly complex.
Culture
Such a great emphasis on DEI and positive wellbeing which was really reflected through the people at Nomura who I talked to. They clearly enjoy being at Nomura, and despite the industry's long hours everyone there supported each other, and lots of schemes are in place to support employees regardless of their background or what they are going through.
Your Impressions
Great, would love to go back next summer. There was never a dull moment and met so many great people.

Tips: 1. You really don't need to choose a specific division just yet - how do you know you want to be an investment banker when you haven't spoken to anyone about what the job is really like and what the role entails? 2. USE JobTestPrep for tests (split an account with others) 3. Prepare to be interviewed by HR and a member of the division you applied to (few brainteasers)
