Overview
It changes a lot day to day with some projects lasting around 2 weeks and others lasting entire placements, but i would say that normally I will be working on continuous improvement projects and streamlining the processes already in place.
Skills
A lot of soft skills where developed like, presenting, working within a team and working in a professional environment. I also continued to develop skills in Cad, Excel, PowerPoint, industrial soft wear.
Responsibilities
I was given responsibility with work loads, scheduling and projects.
Support & Guidance
We where given catch up sessions with Undergrads and paired with Graduates where we could voice our conveners and talk about our experience. there where also mandatory sessions every 4 months with early careers to check up on us and make sure we where enjoying our time at JLR.
Culture
JLR is going through a transformational period as they refocus to a Morden luxury brand so there was a lot of unease in the atmosphere when i started but now I've been there a while i see that management are really trying to improve the general atmosphere and work culture.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed this placement opportunity and got a lot out of it. would defiantly recommend this to anyone looking to get industrial experience working in a professional environment.
Yes
great place to gain experience straight out of university, with employees who are very friendly and encouraging.
