Overview
I write test plans. Typically, I acquire information about some specific topic from datasheets, colleagues etc. and write test cases, descriptions of test procedures etc. I also work on embedded system project where I do a lot of coding and system design work.
Skills
Became much better at python, learned a lot of engineering processes such as GRADE, TRM, WERS system.
Responsibilities
I was given much choice how much responsibility to put onto myself, but I had options for loads.
Support & Guidance
The team does give good guidance, but lacks time often.
Culture
It's nice and safe environment, but culture is not so strong and undergraduates do not form strong community later in the year. This is accelerated by the different types of work models remote/hybrid/in-person that differ from team to team.
Your Impressions
I do enjoy it and I do like working for this company, however it could definitely be more social and more guided experience. It would also be nice if undergraduates were placed in closer roles.
Yes
Try to apply to the most relevant role within business and look for opportunities to move around if you don't manage to.
