Overview
The insight program was very informational. It allows us to learn about the industry from the seniors' perspective. Also we have a chance to network with them and peers. It touched upon GM, IB, Tech and Risk. We had a trading game and a M&A case study.
Skills
Yes. I learnt a lot about the different divisions within IB. The M&A case study helped me to prepare for an interview very well. Also on the GM side, we learnt the definition of 4 different derivatives and we also had a trading game where we can get first-hand experience with the market.
Business Insight
At first glance, it is very overwhelming. There are a lot of information there awaiting to be explored. But that confusion soon becomes excitement, as I realise that my future is not bonded to a specific role or route.
Culture
It was very friendly. It encourages people to talk to people even to the senior guys like the ED or MD, which doesn't happen every day in traditional European banks. Besides that, it is also a safe place where you can carry out your responsibility without worrying about messing everything up.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it every much. It's a great platform for me to make friends and gain knowledge about the industry.
Yes
Just be yourself. Trust that companies are not selecting the best people but the best match.
