    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role involves making sure the dealers, and other various accounts are pricing correctly and hitting the company profit targets. On a daily basis you have to update various trackers and projects that you are in charge of, as well as communicating within the team about other issues. Throughout the week you will have multiple difference reports to send across the company that give an insight in the performance of certain models.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • During my time in this placement opportunity, I have developed a series of existing skills. For instance, my Excel skills were not that great, but since working on various amounts of reports and projects I can confidently say that I am comfortable with a series of excel formulas. Furthermore, the teamwork aspect of the job role naturally improves your communication and team working skills, as a lack of such skills will mean underperformance.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given the responsibility of the updating of important reports that are sent across the company, some of which are sent to the CEO, CFO, CMO etc. This level of importance makes you feel appreciated and relied upon within the company and is a major boost in confidence. I was also given the opportunity to create and develop my own project which ended up being a tracker for the various dealerships.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I had a unusual start to my placement which was of no fault to the team, just the timings of things didn't match very well. However, once everything settled and aligned, the training and guidance I received was exceptional. My team is very welcoming and I have no fear in asking them questions about any problems that I have at work.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture, to me, is perfect. It is very social but also serious at the same time, and everyone is super friendly and welcoming. You feel as if you can approach anyone with any problems and they will help you without hesitation or issue. I have made countless friends from this experience which can be linked with the very approachable atmosphere that company has.

  • I really enjoyed my time in my placement year. I have made many friends, with the other interns, and other team members, which only made this job role more enjoyable.

  • Make sure you are aware of what the company does, and its future plans. A lot of the questions and presentations you will have to answer and do in your assessment centre will be linked with this.
