Overview
in the R&D Culture & Engagement team, we produce global communications for R&D. This includes producing a weekly newsletter, creating new culture campaigns to engage R&D people in our culture, and organizing events such as R&D Townhalls, and annual medicine and vaccine awards. My day-to-day differs based on what projects I'm currently working on.
Skills
I've learnt strong communication skills. I've also definitely grown in confidence and how to think quickly on my feet. I think I've developed my creativity and strategic thinking so that I can contribute in meetings and propose new ideas and perspectives.
Responsibilities
Yes. I feel that my team allow me the freedom to take on projects by myself, whilst also giving me the support I need. I've been able to lead on a couple of projects, such as communications for World Quality Week, which gave me a huge amount of responsibility and helped me to develop my skills.
Support & Guidance
I had a lot of support from my team. I also had a mentor who is currently doing the graduate programme. She has supported me throughout the year and given me a lot of advice on the company and graduate scheme.
Culture
Really good. I felt like everyone I have spoken to and networked with has been very supportive and willing to help.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it. I think this was definitely down to my team a lot of the time, as I feel very well supported by then and was never worried to ask for help or express concerns.
Yes
I'd definitely advise them to network with people, and to socialise with the other IPs. It's important to get to know people as best you can and form connections so you can learn more and make the most out of all oppurtunities.
