    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • The role involves a lot of regular reporting to account managers and senior sales staff of sales figures - this is mainly weekly and monthly reporting. A lot of the other responsibilities are ad hoc and this increases during the busy periods of the year. Much of the work is based on excel using functions such as pivot tables etc.

  • I've learnt many new skills such as using different excel functions that I hadn't used before, as well as a data warehouse called 'click and decide'. I have also developed skills like presenting and organisational skills.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I have been given a lot of responsibility. My team is primarily made up of interns and graduates, meaning we have been given autonomy to work on projects and pieces of work that we find suit us. When ad hoc queries come through we are usually left to our own devices to figure it out which certainly helps progression - however there is always support when required.

  • I've received a lot of support and guidance - everyone I've spoke to is happy to help and will take time to give you support.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture is great, I certainly enjoy being in the office as there is a bit of a buzz and you can speak to people that you may not have spoken to before.

  • I think the company really values personalities and those that are willing to try their best. Also, showing an interest in the automotive industry will help.
