    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • Initially we addended two virtual days where we had an introduction to how the bank operates. We learnt about the different divisions and the structure of Deutsche Bank. I also found the online confidence workshops inspiring. They aimed to give women more confidence in the workplace. The final three days were in London in the Deutsche Bank offices. We had talks from various employees across all business divisions and were able to shadow three divisions. We also had various talks on diversity and inclusion and ESG.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have greatly developed my networking skills throughout the week due to the nature of the event. each day there was an opportunity to chat to fellow programme attendees along with professionals in the industry. we also participated in a networking event outside of the offices on the fourth night which allows us to chat in a somewhat less professional environment. I also developed confidence by addending a virtual session on confidence in the workplace.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • It was very insightful. I learnt about the four key pillars within the business- Corporate Bank, Investment Bank, DWS and Private Bank. We received talks from various employees explaining their day to day roles within the bank. Additionally we learnt about the various infrastructure roles available. We also had the opportunity to shadow three divisions and ask questions to a personal buddy who worked within the bank. I found this the most helpful as you could ask any questions in a more tailored environment.

    Your Impressions

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the insight programme and was able to network with likeminded individuals during all days of the programme. I liked how each day was different and they found a new way to keep it enjoyable and engaging. I also particularly enjoyed to change of scene on the last day when we had the opportunity to visit the Canary Wharf offices. Each talk I received was highly interesting and the workshops allowed us to get out of our seats and chat to one another.

  • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deutsche Bank
  • Initially, writing a good covering letter is key to show why you are specifically interested in Deutsche Bank. Talk about motivations and career aspirations. Additionally, do your research for the interview. I would definitely recommend preparing well for the telephone interview. Learn about the company values and do some technical research into the markets. It's also important to prepare some material surrounding competency questions. Re read your CV and make sure it is accurate and truthful.
