The Role
Considering I had no idea what my job (clinical data management) involved until I started, I think it turned out pretty well! At times it was a bit boring however as I gained experience I was involved in more different tasks and that made the overall experience much more enjoyable
They were always very grateful for the work I did, I never felt taken for granted or unappreciated.
Everyone was always very willing to help if I ever had a problem. There was lots of training to do and my manager was really supportive of me getting as much experience as possible, even in areas outside of my defined job role, which I feel will be really beneficial in the future!
Like any job there were quieter or busy times, I could always find work to do during the quieter times and everyone was very understanding of tight timelines during busier periods and I never felt too pressured to try and please everyone immediately
I think a good amount for a placement student - I was responsible for my own work and helped run a project, as well as liasing with people from outside of the organisation, but I didnt feel too pressured which was great for building confidence.
The skills and knowledge are largely irrelevant to my degree, other than basics such as time and project management, dedication, reliability, etc, however in the future I think they will be very beneficial in future roles in this industry.
The Company
Averagely so, we had social events throughout the year and people are very friendly once you get to know them.
The company takes on a huge number of IPs so everything was very well organised. My particular department had not had placement students for several years but this was never an issue.
There was lots of training to do, initially and throughout the year, and my manager was very supportive of me doing extra activities and training to gain experience of the wider company beyond my department.

I'd love to come and work for them again, but time will tell!
The Culture
Many of us were good friends, lived in shared houses and often socialised together
Outskirts of london, so not cheap by any standards but affordable on the salary!
Not great, there was windsor close by and central london is obviously good but a bit of a mission!
Football and I think some other sports
