Overview
The event was splitted into two virtual and two in-person days. We have been presented the values of Citi and the different teams within each asset class for the Markets division. We participated in a Sales&Trading simulation in one of the virtual days. During the office days, we had the opportunity to network with senior professionals and to shadow two trading desks.
Skills
Yes. First of all, I widened my network, not only with the other competitive spring interns, but also with some very smart and kind analysts and directors which helped me throughout these days. Secondly, I managed to find out new information about some asset classes and improved my technical knowledge in regards with those.
Business Insight
We have been presented these aspects in a very nice way, firstly through virtual presentations regarding the values of the Citi's business and, afterwards, through face-to-face presentations made by senior employees, who talked about their specific team and the asset class each of them represented. More than that, I was able to discover Prime Intelligence and Equity derivatives for MQA in a hands-on manner by shadowing their desks.
Culture
The company culture seemed to be very bonded and engaging, as if many analysts work together in order to achieve a common goal. The atmosphere was very nice, with the other spring interns being very engaging and interested in this field as well.
Your Impressions
It was a very enjoyable insight especially because I was able to share it alongside other students pursuing the same goals. More than that, I felt very valued and included by everyone working at Citi and I am grateful for having the opportunity to shadow a trading floor for the first time.
