Overview
I spent 3 days at Jefferies gaining valuable experience in Equity research and the company as a whole. As part of the program, I received talks from Jefferies employees, training from 'Training the Street', completed a group project, and undertook some work shadowing.
Skills
I developed key interpersonal and presentation skills through networking events and presenting my group project to a panel. I gained a lot of industry-specific knowledge during my time at Jefferies, specifically the jargon used in Equity Research.
Business Insight
I learnt a lot about the field of Equity Research and all the possible roles within this field at Jefferies. I did not learn quite as much about other roles at Jefferies however, there were some talks about this.
Culture
Exceptionally welcoming culture with very flat and forward-thinking leadership. The general atmosphere was professional and positive.
Your Impressions
It was an amazing experience and I found it invaluable for my career development. While it was hard work, I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in working at Jefferies or in Equity Research.
Yes
Research Jefferies beforehand and learn about their values and culture. When on the internship make the most of all the opportunities given to you.
