The Role
A great place to work!
Given responsibility from day one and allowed to manage my own projects
Managers here fully understand what having an industrial placement student entails and therefore are very supportive and help you achieve what you want to get out of your year
Always busy but I never thought my workload was too much too handle
Given the same amount of responsibility as a full time employee from day one- really enables you to develop
I feel I have learnt more skills of use this year that I have through study
The Company
The atmosphere is great- for a big company everyone is really friendly and everyone embraces casual fridays
Set up very well- the company employs alot of placement students and therefore they know how to organise the process very well
The company are very open to your ideas of what you want to achieve and develop and if there is something you want to do they will provide the time and resource to allow you to
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Having a placement here enables you to be fast tracked through some applications stages of a graduate scheme of your choice.
The Culture
In my department alone there are 30 IPs so the social scene is very good- there is also a group called IP Unite which connects all GSK IPs across the country
As with any London location it is quite expensive but if you explore the area there are some very reasonable places
The area has easy access to the central and picadilly lines therefore great nightlife is only a short journey away
So much going on in the surrounding area with work and outside of work
