Overview
Looking through reservations for the day making sure all the underwriting is correctly filled out. Serving and selling to customers. Booking in insurance deals and collecting cars for customers throughout the day as well as delivering vehicles out to corporate customers. We have a lot of interactions with different dealerships, body shops and corporate clients with which we do a lot of marketing to keep relations positive. My project at the moment involves setting up buisinesses on our corporate plans to bring in more business.
Skills
Customer service skills. With this role you deal with all ages and all types of customers. Many customers are stressed and anxious or angry about their car so making sure to keep understand where they're coming from. Management skills. When you get your captaincy roles. Delegating out tasks and roles for other employess to make sure jobs get done Communication skills. Developing your own personal brand is huge here. Getting yourself known for positive reasons to as many people as possible is key in this to progress forward within this position.
Responsibilities
I have been given quite a bit of responsibility. One of the main examples was setting up a large business account of a large storage company which involved meetings with managers and our higher up business managers. Also we get put in charge of chasing debt for business and insurance companies that haven't paid. Making sure to email over professional emails to accounts teams to claim back large amounts of debt and money owed
Support & Guidance
Throughout the time at enterprise support has always been plentiful for help in terms of time off or booking holidays as well as all aspects of developing your knowledge and understanding of business aspects. Training from almost everyone around you is easily accessible to improve in your role. Also whenever you do struggle management above you are always open to help no matter how much further up they are than you. The hub as well online is always available to develop your skills and knowledge.
Culture
With enterprise everyone around you seems to be a similar age with similar interests and personalities. The atmosphere is what you make so always try to make it fun and enjoyable whilst still being professional. Mix bunch of people with different religions and cultures and seeing that different side is a good way to branch out even more. As it is an internal promotion scheme every manager above you once was were you are so they are very understandable of your position
Your Impressions
Still doing it at the moment but recommend this to anyone wanting to develop management skills. I am hopefully coming back in my last year of uni to work part time and therefore allowing em to come back after i finish uni straight into an assistant role. Apart from working the Saturdays the hours once you get use to them are manageable in terms of sorting activities with uni mates in their final year
Yes
Make sure to get the most out of it. be confident to ask as many questions as you can at the start and dive straight into the deep end in order to give you a head start against the other trainees or interns. Remember everyone learns at different rates so dont worry about what other people are doing just focus on yourself and learn at your own pace so nothing is rushed. Expect to be asked to do things you havent done before
