Overview
My role involves updating the daily downtime data to find trends for areas that need to be looked into as recurring issues. Additionally, working on different projects to address these breakdowns such as installing new parts and putting new procedures in place to improve machine reliability.
Skills
I have improved my skills with excel and being able to use and manipulate data. My public speaking skills have improved through discussions during meetings. My time management skills have developed to balance different projects. My team working skills have improved through different projects requiring collaboration, sharing and discussing ideas.
Responsibilities
I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility through being responsible for providing feedback for some of the data during the weekly meetings. Additionally i was responsible for a range of projects and work streams during the year from packaging machines to water valves.
Support & Guidance
People were often willing to offer support, and would help when asked. However at the beginning we were occasionally left to work independently and find out things for ourselves.
Culture
Relaxed, and friendly with flexible working hours and a open, approachable office space.
Your Impressions
I learnt a lot and enjoyed the experience and time along with the other placement students throughout the year.
