Overview
Supporting the Regional and EMEA leading Chief Technologists in their day to day role. Involves communicating across teams to collaborate on projects as well as preparing documentation/slides for our customers.
Skills
I have developed and enhanced my presentation and speaking skills through various meetings where I have had to talk to my peers or present to them my work. As well as this I have improved my time management and organisation skills through managing my workload and optimising my time
Responsibilities
I was given freedom in the sense to explore on my own at the start, being proactive. However, it was almost too much given I am only an intern and needed more guidance. Otherwise, I was assigned tasks and given responsibility and deadlines to meet
Support & Guidance
Weekly 121s with my line manager who was always open and willing to communicate. Was always able to talk to my team leader also who was always giving useful and constructive feedback. My manager at first was a little 'hands-off' but gave me more guidance as i communicated this feedback to him
Culture
Culture is great, all my peers and work colleagues were friendly and happy to talk to me and help me out. Very friendly vibe and you are treated like an employee- never as 'just an intern'.
Your Impressions
Enjoyed. Would have liked to do more, however was slightly limited by the scope and experience of my team but they have done their best to help me and I have learned a lot which is the primary focus of doing a placement
Yes
Learn about the company, about the role you are applying for, show enthusiasm in the interview, learn about the wider world round you (e.g. if applying for a tech role bring up some facts about AI and whats going on right now)
