Overview
In the morning you will work on business admin tasks. This will include talking to body shops, insurance companies and customers. You will also support customers when they come to collect their hire car and take details needed. You will also deliver cars and collect cars from customers so this job entails driving. You will also work on marketing and sending leads as well as sales on protections. There isn’t much you don’t do at enterprise.
Skills
Improve communication skills especially formal communication between businesses. Also improved communication with customers which helps meet their needs. Finance skills have improved as I have learnt how to manage debt and chase it. Marketing skills drastically improved as I now know how to market a service to a business. Driving skills have improved. I have learnt how to deal with conflict and defuse situations. Developed on time management as it is essential to time runs correctly.
Responsibilities
In the first few months I had a smaller amount on responsibility and just focused on learning the basics of the role. As my confidence grew I ended up taking on more roles and captaincy’s. Once I have taken these on I have taken on a lot more responsibilities including extensions, yellow car captains, claims captain and bcam. All of these roles make a difference to the business as it ensures things run smoothly
Support & Guidance
I was supported all the way through this internship. We had regular training sessions with head office and many days out and trips for team bonding. I also had weekly 1-1s with my manager to check in on how I was doing. We also have a mandatory monthly review where we are given any support needed. I also had support from my peers when I was unsure on how to do something. I was guided all the way through this process
Culture
The culture is a very fun and friendly place. I felt as though I could be myself in this company and not have to pretend to be someone I am not. As I woman in a male dominated area I felt accepted and understood. We eat together and laugh together. Your colleagues really become your second family and make working so much fun. There is also car karaoke which improves the mood when it’s been a hard day
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed this internship and learnt so very much. Whilst it has been hard and tiring I feel as though it has been worth it. As the months went on my team became like family which made me enjoy this experience so much more. The internship wasn’t what I was expecting but it was exactly what I needed to develop my skills. This is 100% worth it in the long run for your future.
Yes
I would advise you to prepare yourself for long hours. The average start time is 7:45am and finish about 7pm in the evening. This can be really hard to manage your work life balance. You will also work Saturdays which bites into your time. You do get paid overtime but when you feel like you are at work more than you are at home it doesn’t really Match up. So I would advise you prepare yourself for not having much of a social life outside of enterprise
