Overview
My role is to assisting with the design of bridges on a concept design project. On a day- to-day basis I am sketching designs CAD software and calculating sizing.
Skills
I have improved my technical knowledge which will massively benefit me in my final year of university. My communication has developed from working with my team and other disciplines.
Responsibilities
Yes I feel like over time my responsibilities increased as I gained the trust of my colleagues after producing work they was happy with.
Support & Guidance
I felt I was given a lot of support by my line manager and my project team. I was happy to ask for help as I felt people we're always happy to give me the time.
Culture
Mott Macdonald has a great company culture. Specifically the bridges team was a pleasure to work on and very inclusive.
Your Impressions
I participated in some great CSR events such as Bridges 4 Schools. This was really rewarding to inspire young kids and give back to the local community. I also participated on a litter pick for Earth Day.
Yes
I would advise to be their honest authentic self as that is something valued in the company and important to ensure they are a good fit into the wider team.
