Overview
My role as an intern is focused on projects crafted to assist in three areas: customer attrition, adoption of our services and value. These projects also aim to improve internal processes, which influence the way the team operated on a day-to-day basis. Additionally, my role involves collaboration with other internal teams (Sales, Marketing, etc.) as well as external interactions with customers (enterprise level businesses) and support with on-site events/meetings.
Skills
I have developed my problem-solving skills through the projects I was given; my communication skills through various the presentations I delivered; my creativity and design skills through creating internal or external materials (decks, videos, etc.). Overall, I have definitely gained more confidence in myself and in the skills that I possess.
Responsibilities
I have been contributing towards real projects with real impact, while always being encouraged to explore different alternatives and solutions and not being limited to a single answer. I believe my teammates have always demonstrated trust in me and so I was able to work on projects/tasks from start to finish while getting the right guidance.
Support & Guidance
I was given a mentor as part of this experience, who has done a successful job with this intern programme by creating a list of real projects, setting up regular 1-to-1's to discuss the progress, giving the best guidance and advice, and always adapting the experience according to my expectations, needs and preferences. Also, my manager and teammates have always supported and guided me while making sure I felt comfortable to ask questions or express my opinions.
Culture
A very open company culture and friendly atmosphere that encourages people to be themselves. Everyone is friendly and always willing to help.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at Adobe and would definitely like to come back here after finishing my final university year! In fact, if possible, I'd rather continue working here than go back to my studies!
Yes
Definitely be yourself and, at the same time, believe in yourself and the skills you've got! Show your creativity and passion for the industry, job, company, products. And don't be afraid to ask questions, they're always more than welcomed.
