Overview
Talent interviews and press junkets - Talent handling, scheduling and facilitating interviews with journalists Press materials - Compiling press kits, press releases Coverage management - Monitoring & tracking relevant press coverage, compiling weekly updates and highlights Asset management - key art, trailers, media alerts, synopses, releases Team finance - Budget tracking and raising POs
Skills
Developing a high level of communication skill has been imperative in liaising with teams across EMEA and presenting to key business leaders in meetings. I've improved my organisation skills day-to-day when prioritising my daily/weekly tasks. Having to write press materials has developed my eye for detail, design and copy checking skills
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility within my team during the internship, from sending out the weekly coverage email to the entire division to presenting our work to the division in monthly meetings.
Support & Guidance
Lots! My two managers were extremely helpful throughout my time at NCBU, always willing to answer my questions, give me feedback and show me the ropes.
Culture
The company culture within International Networks & Direct-To-Consumer was extremely chatty, friendly and helpful. Being an international team, one thing that stands out was bringing snacks back from the different territories and offering them out to each team. Everyone knows everyone, people aren't afraid to come up to the desks to talk rather than chat over email - you get to know wider teams as much as your own quickly and easily
Your Impressions
I loved my internship! I would recommend it in a heartbeat! My team was absolutely amazing and I've learnt so much about the world of PR and what it will be like for me after University
