Overview
You will work as part of NBCUniversal's global Fair Employment Practices (FEP) team, reporting to the Senior Director, based in the UK. You will gain a unique insight supporting NBCUniversal's varied portfolio of businesses, Film & TV productions with coordinating workplace trainings, the documenting of investigations into employee relations issues, and gender pay reporting. You will also help with the maintenance of our global Respect in the Workplace Policy, the co-ordination of local translation/legal review of documents, general day to day record keeping, and other ad hoc duties as applicable.
Skills
My drafting skills have improved as I draft questions and reports for investigations. I have also taken part in training and led sections which has improved my public speaking meaning that I have gained confidence in that area. Due to relevant audits within the company I have learnt how to use various case and data management systems as well as being able to pull this data.
Responsibilities
Yes, the managers I work with, and every manager I have encountered, are all very willing to make sure you get what you want out of the experience. For example I have taken training sessions which is not usual and also helped the VP with important data for the business. These were things added as I was learning and progressing through the internship. There never was a boring day!
Support & Guidance
Lots of guidance and support from every individual in the business. You are encouraged to reach out to others in the business and learn and network that way. I have found that within NBC there is no invisible redline which you cannot cross, as someone more junior in the team, everyone is more than happy to help!
Culture
It is so supportive and welcoming! Everyone is so lovely.
Your Impressions
I’m loving my placement so far. It is an amazing company to work for and the experiences you get to have here are amazing.
Yes
I would be open to every new experience that comes your way. As well as making sure to say yes to new opportunities outside of your role. This allowed me to meet so many new people and build really supportive circles that will open up multiple doors.
