The Role
Very enjoyable, felt like I achieved a lot and gained a lot of experience
All very friendly and helpful
Whenever I needed help someone was happy to provide it, even if my supervisor was unavailable
Got very busy at times, but it was great to have lots of lab work to do.
Mostly just me and one other person working on my project so felt like I had a lot of responsibility to keep it going.
All skills I learnt would be very applicable to future molecular biology labwork
The Company
Open plan office, so busy and usually something going on, but was still possible to get work done
Was talk of switching to another group to do some work that never came about, but I still had a lot to do.
All of the neccessary training given and happy to allow me to try different things
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I would like to work back at GSK for this department, if a job were available to me
The Culture
Most weekends something was going on
Fairly average - could get into London easily (where socialising would be more expensive) but living here wasn't too expensive
Lots of bars and pubs, not many clubs
Lots of things around, whether advertised by work or found by ourselves
