Overview
Responsible for design and project management of components from concept to production, ensuring that build events occur on time. Liaising with a wide variety of functions from design, validation, manufacturing, sourcing, purchasing and supply chain, including working with external suppliers. Support product lifecycle and data management processes. Create and manage design specifications. Analytical and experimental validation of components.
Skills
I have a much more robust understanding of the engineering process, taking designs from concept to production. This has improved my analytical and engineering skills (CAD, V&V, design optimization), but moreover improved my soft skills (communication with different functions, project management, experience working with team members from around the globe and overcoming language barriers).
Responsibilities
I was provided with a good level of training, and was given more responsibility as my confidence increased until I was functioning as a full member of the team with my own component ownership.
Support & Guidance
Managers and mentors were always available to provide support, but there is also ample training resources
Culture
Good company culture and atmosphere, worked as part of a Hybrid team.
Your Impressions
I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have been given a good amount of responsibility for meaningful hardware which has improved my engineering and wider skills. Company also offers good diversity and inclusion and social events (team building to more social out of work activities).
