Overview
Daily tasks can be varied due to the nature of my role. I generally am enrolled into projects which I will produce various pieces of content for, for example, social media campaigns, case studies, landing pages for events and more. I will work with various stakeholders internally and externally on calls to collect information, co-ordinate what key information we need to highlight and the ways we will distribute the content. I will often be put on meetings to discuss this too.
Skills
Developed skills include creative writing, digital enablement tool usage, presentation skills, organisation & deadline management. New skills include industry knowledge for marine, oil & gas markets, global operations' knowledge, social media campaign skills.
Responsibilities
I was given the power to co-ordinate projects by myself with access to regular support from my managers and team members. I was also given opportunities to share my opinions in some strategic decisions being made
Support & Guidance
Weekly 1-1s with my manager and with my core team members, as well as support from outside my function if I requested it.
Culture
A supportive culture where people are given guidance and knowledge at all levels of their career. People take time to listen to any concerns.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my time, I found it difficult to adjust to the number of global employees and struggled to get my head around the size of the organisation. Once I was able to adjust, I found it really rewarding exploring opportunities to collaborate with as many people as possible.
Yes
Take time to ask questions, and don't be afraid to speak up if you have a conflicting opinion or view. Seek as many opportunities as you feel you can manage, but also don't be afraid to turn people away if they come to you, and you have too much to do.
