The Role
Perfect balance of time as well as intellectual challenges, while working on core skills as well as my own project.
Alot.Considered same as them.
To the extenet that they helped guide me through my work and role throughout the year and possibly how I should learn from my experience and also expand on it.
busy enough with one thing or another. Everyday I learnt atleast one new thing (either about my Science, or about the techonologies I was working on, or about the company in general)
The amount of responsibility increased through the course of the year to the point that I am now skilled to operate exactly as a graduate joining the company.
There were alot of new experiments and technical skill I managed to learn in the year.
The Company
Everyone enjoyed working and had 'fun' as long the work was done appropriately and met it's deadlines.
Quite organised, however due to the nature of of my project (research & developemnt) we would have a change in specific aims and objectives a couple of times.
We had access to all facilities and information (seminars/database), same as any permanent employee.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Healthcare from home
Possibly alot due to some successful work that I have been able to generate during the placement. However, I will have to come back through normal route after graduation to apply for further employment.
The Culture
We have a whole cross-sites organisation set-up to increase interaction amongst all students at the company.
Cheaper compared to london and could, live, eat, socialise & still be able to save sufficient amounts by end of year!
Not great (only a couple of clubs/bars in the town), but could go to London for that as it was only 20mins away on train.
Volunteering schemes, training through courses.
