Overview
Debugging defects Writing new code for production and tests Participate in the teams agile activities (SCRUM, sprint retrospectives and planning) Configuring physical hardware to run code for testing on Visit universities and collages to speak with students and advertise opportunities available for early professionals

Learned and developed skills in programming languages (C, Python, Bash, Perl, Java, Javascript, React) Advanced my agile working skill (sprint cycles, scrums) Communication and Presentation (presenting/talking with students about IBM)
Responsibilities
I was given responsibility of completing defects within the time constraints. Had a project within the department I was the lead developer on involved working with people in many teams to further develop and share the project. Free to find work outside of my assigned team. To learn more about the company and industry.
Support & Guidance
Lots of experienced people in my team to ask questions and get assistance in completing work assigned to me. Opportunities to do pair programming. and lots of resources to improve my skills and professional development. Dedicated university placements manager to help with queries related to the internship as well as my day to day task manager to ask about role related questions.
Culture
Relaxed culture. pushing for Innovation. Lots of events on site. Everyone is open to answer questions you want to ask. Networking opportunities with other developers and higher management employees.
Your Impressions
The placement was extremely beneficial. It was very varied over the year I worked. The work was enjoyable and found it rewarding to see the code and projects completed.
Yes
Be yourself. While the application process does require CV cover letter. the main thing they look for is that you are aiming to develop yourself and that you will fir into the innovative culture at IBM. Once you get into the placement take advantage of all opportunities that become available over the time you are there.
