Overview
I work in the West Bridgford office, Nottingham and would either shadow senior engineers with tasks, site works and other involvements for my personal developments as well as being assigned my own work. I also have the opportunity to work from home for 40% of the week.
Skills
I have learnt: to use Tekkla Tedds, write and review SSIP's, Safety Auditing, Crash site investigating and report writing as well as greater experience working with datasets, AutoCAD and problem solving.
Responsibilities
I was! From the start, I have been asked to work on real jobs and learn at my own pace with a friendly and approachable team, and i was never left feeling unneeded. I was part of the team and not just "making tea"
Support & Guidance
Whenever needed, i was given guidance on jobs and tasks, which was as and when needed, and whenever a new topic or job came through, I was taught, left top learn then asked questions on how my progress was coming along. overall a brilliant experience.
Culture
Inclusive, friendly and everyone was approachable whenever I met another member of the company, I never felt intimidated nor belittled, and I would love a career in VIA EM
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the independence of writing my own time sheets, being left to work o projects with no overbearing and the ability to wok from home on projects that did not need office presence. Overall I would happily do it again!
