    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Logging , tracking and managing non conformance reports. Approving and assigning to appropriate contact person for root cause analysis, correction and corrective action implementation. Managing Documents control process to ensure up to date reviews and audit. Managing and keeping efficient records of databases in the quality department. Organizing and attending daily meetings and ensuring actions are being implemented. Providing administrative support to the Quality team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have learnt the use of Pivot charts, Sharepoint for Non conformance reporting, Document processing audits and reviews. My analytic skills have also improved to investigate and come up with possible solutions on reported cases. My communication and reporting skills have also been enhanced especially during virtual meetings

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given much responsibility and was also supported in actualizing the targets. No two day are the same ad there are always different issues to tackle which came with its own challenges. My willingness to learn new things also enabled my team member to be willing to give me extra responsibility for instance being invited into some meetings so I could have an oversight of discussion and give input

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Tremendous support I would say. My team members have been very supportive, they are not too busy to spare extra time to explain or put me through challenging bits. They gave me the freedom to own my task and trust my judgement. Having no prior product /process Quality knowledge, the extra support provided has made a huge difference

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • So far, I have enjoyed my placement tremendously. I have learnt and thrived in an environment that was initially new to me. Now I can seek opportunities in the Quality areas of the business based on my experience and knowledge . The placement program also gave me the opportunity to utilize my previous skills . I believe the team is happy with my growth so far and I do hope I have the opportunity to stay back as Cummins is a great place to work.
