Overview
My role included day-to-day tasks of updating Disney’s websites as well as more project based work such as aiding in the build of new pages/websites.
Skills
Yes! A lot! Specifically how to work with Disney’s bespoke CMS. I have also built excel skills as well as many soft skills such as oral and written communication, time management and organisation.
Responsibilities
A lot of responsibility! But in a good way. Towards the end of my internship I was leading my own projects with the support of my coworkers. However it still wasn’t too much pressure put on the interns as we have the support of our coworkers who were also working with us on these projects.
Support & Guidance
A good amount of support and guideance. I always felt that I could speak to any of my coworkers if I had any questions or started to feel a bit overwhelmed. Disney also do an intern development programme throughout the year to aid interns development.
Culture
Amazing! I would definitely return to Disney in the future if the opportunity presented itself. Everyone is so friendly and Disney offers loads of perks for everyone to get involved in if they want!
Your Impressions
I loved my internship! As I said I would gladly return to Disney in the future and it has definitely given me so many tools and life lessons that I will carry with me as I start my career.
Yes
If you get to the interview process of an internship just be yourself! I can’t stress this enough! Yes it’s great if you have previous experience but they don’t expect incoming interns to have loads yet. They are more looking for people who will fit in with their team. Just enjoy it! Getting an interview is an achievement in itself so just show them who you are.
