    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Day-to-day my primary responsibility was to generate quotes, contracts and then process those contracts throughout internal reviews ready for an approved contract to be available to the Customer. I was involved in the consulting side of the business so I was only involved in the sale of consulting effort. I also got exposure to customer meetings, negotiating strategies, internal approval slide decks and initial ROMs (Rough Order of Magnitude) which were sent to Customers who were initially interested in SAP Consultants. I also monitored/tracked and forecasted consulting projects to make sure the profit margin was kept in line with what was contracted and proactively work out if we'd require a contract extension.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I've definitely developed my attention to detail, commercial awareness and stakeholder management which I had before but not in a business environment. There wasn't that much opportunity for leadership from the front but a decent amount for leadership by example given that I was an intern.
