    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • In controlling work is based on cycles which can be monthly, weekly or scheduled. You will be reporting figures to higher level management, make corrections to financial data. Partake in revenue recognition as well as help with forecast. You will also have ad hoc tasks to complete such as generating new reports or getting data for colleges.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Excel and using SAP analysis for office is a key hard skill I have developed. I already used excel but during the placement I have mastered it and AFO is a powerful tool I thought myself during the placement which has been invaluable to me and the business. Through acquiring these hard skills I have also developed soft skills such as problem solving, critical thinking and communication.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • During the placement you have a wide variety of responsibility placed on you during the internship based on the time of month. Your work load a bit light to begin with but you have the opportunity to develop in different business areas by asking different team leaders for work or to ask your own manager and team mates for work. I spent my time implementing Analysis for office in reports to increase time efficiency significantly.
