Overview
Review the data from the previous day/week to understand deviations within the data and produce actions to prevent/understand them. Partake in daily meetings to evaluate performance from the previous day and produce actions for the day. Speak to the various leaders across site to support any projects currently ongoing as well as speak to external companies to organise trials and projects.
Skills
The skills learnt vary from thinking from a physical production point of view rather than theoretical, understanding the limitations to some ideas all though theoretically doable. The other skills learnt are more from a people point of view, understanding the different way people work and how to easily collaborate with various employees.
Responsibilities
The responsibility given to myself were built over time which allowed more freedom in the work however although the responsibility increased over time there was always a support network for any issues.
Support & Guidance
Across the factory there is a lot of support for any query, as well as support for various projects throughout the placement. Every factory employee had time for a chat regarding anything from work to what you did on the weekend making it a really good inclusive environment and felt like although you are there for a year, you were part of the team.
Culture
The environment was very inclusive and the factory atmosphere is a great one. At periods its busy however the morale in the office is high.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement due to the people I worked with/around as well as the work being enjoyable and meaningful to the factory and company.
Yes
Just speak to people you meet. The best way is though the more social sides (i.e 5 a side football within the factory) as this is a more informal way to get to know various people. Always open yourself to new work and opportunities as this is also a very good way to meet people outside your function and direct team.
