Overview
Procurement Assistant Role involves speaking to supplier daily, negotiating prices, updating contracts, contributing on projects to change products, identifying saving opportunities and supporting with crisis management involving suppliers.
Skills
Negotiating skills, excel skills, saving opportunities identification, virtual working, corporate communication and numerical skills.
Responsibilities
Yes, depending on your team, your line manager you often get a lot of responsibility and trust from management to oversee your own portfolio or projects ect. You have the opportunity to make impact.
Support & Guidance
Good support from line management and team. Management is often virtual, based elsewhere in Europe, rather than support from local colleagues/ management. Central Careers team are helpful if you reach out.
Culture
Company culture and atmosphere in general is good, where people are open to help and offer support. Office culture can differ depending on location; bigger offices such as London/ Rotterdam offices seem to have more of a welcoming and buzzing atmosphere than older/ smaller offices such as Lever House. Factory environments seem to have good comradery between colleagues. Social interaction within office depends on location.
Your Impressions
Enjoyed overall very much! Opportunity to live and work in a new place, travel to other locations, visit factories and be given responsibility of a job without being in a high pressure environment. Learnt a lot about the function and about the company and its supply chain. Overall would recommend.
Yes
It's better if your team is local to your office for better social interaction and for smoother onboarding. Make the most of the opportunities to travel and go to events ect.
