Overview
My official job title is an 'Assistant Brand Manager' in the digital and e-commerce team for Unilever Professional. More specifically, I am responsible for CRM and building retention strategies for our customers - this involves, email campaigns, social media posting, discounting structures etc. I am also responsible for submitting budgets and other admin tasks.
Skills
Yes! I've been able to complete various courses, for example a design course. Apart from that I have also developed more personal skills like team-working, communication and just general office etiquette.
Responsibilities
Yes, I am the only one on my team responsible for CRM so I am leading my own projects!
Support & Guidance
I am pretty close to my line manager which is nice. It's also good to have a large placement student cohort because you never feel alone! I also had a long handover time of 2 months, with the previous intern so I could learn the ropes with her.
Culture
Nice company culture, quite a few social occasions. Only problem with the office is it's hot seats so on a Thursday it could be quite hard to find space/meeting rooms.
Your Impressions
Overall I enjoyed it. Going into the office was my highlight (my team only went in once a week). I learnt a lot about myself - I don't want to go into the area of marketing that I have been working in this past year, but my team have been great and I have still learnt relevant marketing terminology and more generally, about corporate life!

Be passionate!!
