Overview
My daily tasks involve following up with next steps which are discussed in meetings previously. I work closely with our suppliers and 3rd party manufacturers to work through any supply issues that are brought to my attention as well as building resilience plans with our manufacturers and involving R&D into the discussion of this to ensure the materials are approved to be in our formulation for our products.
Skills
I have learnt how to communicate well as I have progressed in my role. I have also developed leadership skills as I now manage my own project within my company where I am the main point of contact for one of our manufacturers. Completing this role has also allowed me to exercise my analytical skills which I acquired through university and I have realised through this role that it is one of my main strengths and best skill.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was lucky to have a two 1-to-1 meetings every week with my line manager who would set me tasks to complete. At the start I was mainly shadowing my manager but as I have progressed in my role I have been given small responsibilities over time and now I am leading my own project.
Support & Guidance
I received a lot of support and guidance from both my line manager and colleagues.
Culture
The company culture and atmosphere was great. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my placement very much but it does becoming repetitive over time - nevertheless, it has been eye-opening to see how a business functions and the behind the scene work to ensure that products arrive on store shelves on time.
