The Role
Very enjoyable, friendly staff in a relaxed working environment. Work set was of a mixed variety and involved working alone and as a part of a team.
Very valued, involved in all day to day tasks and wasn't considered inferior being a student on a placement.
Very involved with management as they have a student plan to track and monitor my progress over the year and weekly one to one meetings with my manager to discuss aspects of work and future developments.
There were times where work was not too busy but theres always something to find if you ask about. A lot of opportunity for extra-curricular activities to keep you busy working on logistics!
A lot of leadership opportunities came up throughout the placement and training which would have to be delivered to the department; showing how much trust they put into the students to achieve business-critical tasks.
Was a great experience working in a proffesional office environment. Allowed insight into the clinical/pharmaceutical environment and has provided a lot of wider reading around my subject area of human physiology.
The Company
Very good atmosphere, staff were very friendly and supporting.
Each staff assigned their own manager so man management was very good.
Incredible amount of opportunity to develop yourself in many proffesions.

Graduate schemes are offered towards the end of the year and you can opt to have your profile saved for future reference if a job within the company should ever come up.
The Culture
Very good balance of professional environment and chit chat around the office. As long as you get the work done to a high standard they are very easy with how you work. You could talk, be silent, or listen to your iPod throughout the day with no problems as long as you make yourself available.
Being in London travel and living costs we're fairly expensive. Wages offered did accomodate these but had to be careful with money.
Small amount of nightlife! 20 min journey into Central London made up for it.
Many opportunity within the department and GSK as a whole to partake in a large amount of activities including organising the christmas fair, many charitable events, and staff nights out.
