Overview
On a day-to-day basis, the role involves supporting the project team in various elements of IT projects, as well as leading my own areas.
Skills
Exposure to lots of new systems & ways of working. As well as support developing soft skills.
Responsibilities
Was given lots of responsibility, more than expected from a placement. I was trusted with lots of responsibility early on which helped my development. Support was there if needed, but the expectation was that I would get on and do.
Support & Guidance
There has been lots of support and guidance, but there is an expectation to get on and do what you need to do. There are lots of development opportunities, and management/team are there to support.
Culture
Specific team is very good, although the wider culture is rather strict. Work and company is very fast paced, so can be very sink or swim. Naturally the company culture could be a lot better, although this is the case everywhere. The company still remains a great place to work.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it a lot, especially given the responsibility I was given. However there were moments where there was an element of thumb twiddling and waiting for things to come up.
Yes
Don't be put of my what you read online. Aldi is still a great place to work and reward people well for the work they do.
