Overview
My role is to support the P4 group of Gensets as an engineering capacity, on a day-to-day basis it involves discussing and sharing relevant information with customers (internal/external), and operating with other BUs to develop solutions to current products with issues. My day-to-day has been a project and technical leader for a problem solving project for a ignition system - designing and implementing the solution.
Skills
I have learnt many skills regarding leadership roles, product design iteration, industry processes, GDT, industry standards through my work as a technical and project leader for a problem solving process. I have also developed my existing knowledge regarding aerodynamics, structures and material properties.
Responsibilities
I was given a large amount of responsibility as a project leader, but I was never left to be fully accountable for everything. Even with my manager being busy, he was always present to account for my wellbeing regarding responsibility and my role.
Support & Guidance
I was given plenty of support and guidance
Culture
Everyone is very friendly, welcoming and interesting. Generally people are kind and grounded, I haven't had any particularly bad interactions. Life outside of work is a big part of the culture at Cummins.
